So, I love my horsies, but they SCARE me sometimes.... Mom fed this morning, because I am working in theory, anyway, I am at the office, but these letters can wait 5 mins. As I was walking down the hall, I noticed that there were greater than usual feeding shenanigans going on. It is cold out(-9 celcius), and they were "feeling their oats" -- running, kicking etc. Mom was fine, but I guess Juno, who is our pregnant mare, slipped and fell FLAT on her side. i did not see this

ACK! I guess she laid there a moment, a bit stunned, then got up. She wasn't badly hurt, mercifully, just missing some hair over one hip. But Mom said she was pretty rattled. Last week, Mom took a course in Reiki, so she did some on Juno and it calmed her right down. *PHEW* and WONDERFUL that Mom has this skill. But I do wish the darling horses wouldn't do these things. They are so strong and yet SOOOO fragile. It's one of the toughest parts of horsemanship - you love them to bits, but all the while knowing they could be gone at any moment, so you should treat them well and enjoy them while they are in your life. It's cliched, I know, but also a truth.

Oh, and later today, I will tell you about the great automatic waterer saga. . . . *eyeroll*

But now, to those lovely letters. *sob*
