So, Mom and Dad made their peace. Which is good.
We had a lovely thanksgiving dinner with Grama last night -- martini and a half, free run chicken, organic yams, organic broccoli, red potatoes (cubed, not mashed), the most delicious gravy mom has made in years the celtic sea salt we are using now really does taste better!, Jackson Triggs Okanagan, Gewurtztraminer. Grama made apple pie with streusel topping for dessert. And I had leftovers of the pie for breakfast. *YUM*
The chiropractor will NOT be coming back to treat Joey. After the last treatment, Joey was REALLY sore. This does not seem right. Treatments do NOT need to be that severe. So we are not going to use this chiropractor again. She is lovely, but we don't like her treatments. She also treated our dog, who also regressed badly for a couple of days after the treatment, so this wasn;t just a one time thing.
We are going to continue to rest and massage her.
ivilon, I bought Equine Massage and REALLY like the way it codifies things. Thanks SOOO much for the rec. I'd looked at it before, and your rec convinced me to buy it. Best of all, there was a sale at the tack shop, and it was 20% off AND Mom bought it for me. :D. I knew some of the stuff, but it sure helps to have it laid out in such a clear fashion. And I am learning tonnes. Too early to tell if it is helping -- Joey is still pretty upset with being handled poor girl!. If she continues to have issues, we will use a different chiropractor -- either the one from before, or another woman I know of.
Still no luck on the saddle front. But I got a few things at the tack shop sale -- the book, above. A new fly mask for Shaughnsy. Spray fly-tox for Joey, who doesn't like Wipe. Dewormers, on sale (timely!). Was fun.
And in new news: I am having diss stress. Oh, wait, that is old news.
And I don't want to be at work today, but I DO like the paychecks. So I guess I'll stay. In which case, I should probably do some actual work. *sigh*
