I was SOOOO sorry not be fast enough on the draw, because a whole WHACK of quail flew up en masse moments before this shot. Did you notice the quail buts between the rafter and the press-board? the quail are all packed in, back to back ;).
Miss Mew does indeed try for the quail, though more often in the summer, and she stalks them outside. I THINK she has come close to getting one....
When I was a kid, our cat Tigger (another stray who acquired us, and stayed for 22!!! years) once actually GOT a quail. I'd just gotten home from school and was saying hi to Grama and her bridge buddies in the cabin near our house. I saw Tigger fly by with this BIG THING in her mouth. I opened the door to see better, and in flew Tigger and the quail. There were biddies and feathers flying EVERYWHERE! ;D. Tigger was so startled she let the bird go, poor thing.... :(.
And JJ WAS indeed one of the ones to give me a new years eve smooch shortly after midnight- and that snozz is TERRIBLY kissable -- and she has the art Down. Pat ;)
