Sexual Politics (of the equine persuasion)

So, I went out to get some fresh air and top up the horses' water. I notice that the three walkers are standing under a tree together in the shade, and that Beau, the sole boy, is resting his head on Joey's back. I think to myself "Aww, isn't that nice!", because Joey is usually pretty bitchy towards Beau -- she bites and kicks him if he gets within a country mile of her hay, so he usually gives her a WIDE berth. Now, they do hang out outside of meal time, but they are far from buddies. So I thought this was great.

Then Joey started Mare squirting. AH HA! She is in heat. This explains it. *eyeroll* The hussy. The boy, he is gelded, but it doesn't seem to matter to her. And he finds her intriguing, if nothing else. . . .
