The fire I told you about last night has now doubled in size -last radio report, it was about 1000 hectares. The valley is VERY smoky today (there are other fires in the region, too, which isn't helping) -- not fun. But we are hanging out inside, in the airconditioning, and praying for rain but no wind. And for NO MORE thunderstorms (this storm, and another small fire that is now under control, but was only 13 km from the big fire were both caused by lightening).

The local media is VERY bad about online coverage, but there is a brief story and some photos on one poorly designed site: Fire Update

ETA: here is a picture from last night. We are about 50 KM away and could still see the flare ups.
